I opened this account probably about a month ago and haven’t really done a damn thing with it yet. The point of this blog is for me to track my progress on my eventual departure from the U.S.. This blog is an exercise in trying to remain in contact with as many people as possible.
The ‘Plan’:
If you noticed I put ‘Plan’ in quotes because I’m hoping to have as little of one of these as possible. Here is what I do know though. I’m currently hoping to jump the border into Mexico sometime in July 2010 and head south through Central and South America. I don’t know where I’ll go exactly and I don’t really intend on really figuring that out. I’ll do some research ahead of time but I’ll leave it up to the flip of a coin, a local’s suggestion, the direction the breeze is blowing or wherever the cheapest bus takes me. Over the course of the next nine month’s I’m sure some semblance of a plan will start to formulate. If not, all-well. It will work itself out.
Why?
It just makes sense. Time is our only real commodity in our life and we all need to use it the best way we see fit. At some point I’ll elaborate on my own decision further but for now that should be enough.
